Mulder and Scully are in love, they just don't know it yet. To tell the truth, I don't want them to find out. If you'll turn your attention to other networks, I'll explain why. I don't know if you have ever seen Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman or Lois and Clark: the New Adventures of Superman, but I feel both shows illustrate why romantic tension is necessary to the X-Files. In Dr. Quinn, Dr. Quinn and Sully (no I didn't leave out the "C". He spelled it like that.) are in love and they do know it, but they had never gotten married, for various reasons (he was sort of a mountain man and she was a Boston doctor, she had three adopted kids, she got engaged to someone else for a while, etc.) and when they finally did get married, it was like the whole point of the show went out the window. In Lois and Clark, first Lois finds out that Superman and Clark Kent and one and the same, and then, to top all, Lois and Clark begin plan their wedding. The show ended with Superman leaving Lois to go save people from Krypton by marring their leader. Maybe I'm wrong, but in my opinion, if Mulder and Scully confess their love, it would be like Mulder finding the answers to everything he's been searching for all wrapped up in a tidy little box. The romantic tension in TXF is just as important as the dramatic tension. CC can't believe that he can destroy it and hope that the show will be as exciting. I probably sound like a Finis Relationshipper, but I don't like to think about the end of the show like that. I wouldn't say that I'm a NoRoMo either, because I do think Mulder and Scully belong together. I read 'shippy fanfiction. I live for UST. I just don't want RST (resolved sexual tension).
